Before the 1990s, the common practice of disposing waste tires was landfill or stacking. Landfill or stacking is accompanied by many problems: ecological damage, land occupation, and fire hazard. The bigger problem is that a large amount of rubber resources are wasted. Let's take a look at the disposal methods of waste tires today:
1. Tire retreading. Retreading is a good choice for the reuse of waste tires. The outer layer of the worn waste tire is cut off, the rubber is pasted, and then vulcanized to obtain a retread tire that can be reused. Under good maintenance, a tire can be retreaded many times, extending the service life of the tire by 1~2 times.
2. Prototype modification Through bundling, cutting, punching and other methods, waste tires are transformed into valuable products, such as fenders for docks and ships. Here are some representative international uses: cutting the tire body into strips of different sizes, weaving them into elastic protective nets, anti-skid mats, etc.; processing them into sewage pipes or directly arranging them to replace underground pipes; burying waste tires under the grass to "hold" rainwater; using waste tires to stabilize slopes and prevent wind and sand; and many more.
3. Thermal energy utilization Use waste tires instead of fuel, which can be used for thermal power generation or combustion in industrial boilers. Due to serious environmental pollution problems, this method is not popular with the public.
4. Desulfurization to produce recycled rubber Through chemical treatment, waste tires are desulfurized to obtain recycled rubber. In recent years, due to poor performance of recycled rubber, complex disposal process, high energy consumption, and environmental pollution, it has gradually been replaced by rubber powder.
5. Mechanical processing to become rubber powder. After the waste tires are crushed mechanically, powdered rubber powder is obtained. Rubber powder has a wide range of uses: it can be added to rubber to replace part of the raw rubber raw materials; activated rubber powder or modified rubber powder can be used to make various rubber products (automobile tires, conveyor belts, etc.); combined with asphalt or cement, it can be used in road construction and construction; and many other fields.
6. High-temperature thermal decomposition Under high-temperature heating conditions, waste tires can be decomposed into combustible oil, combustible gas, and carbon powder.
At Optima, we manufacture tire recycling equipment, the most advanced tire recycling machine in the industry. We cover every stage of the tire recycling process, from whole tires to crumb rubber powder.
Mobile Tire Shredder and Tire TDF plant used in breaking whole tires into roughly sized shreds for other applications,Mobile shredder to make TDF chips 50 * 50mm. Tire TDF plant is designed for shredding waste tire into 50mm~150mm rubber blocks. We say it's TDF chip, this is a good fuel for cement plants.
Wire Free Mulch Plant used in separating the metal wire from within tires. Wire Free Mulch Plant is specifically designed to take pre-shredded tires chips and produce between 18-30mm wire free rubber chip, the finished products it produces primary uses are for gardens , playgrounds, and arenas.
Rubber Crumb Machine/Plant used to further process tire strips into smaller sizes, and to separate fibers. Rubber crumb application in floor mat, running track and playground.
Rubber Powder Production Line a final step in tire processing; this further breaks rubber down into fine grains, can be applied to rubber tube, rubber tire, reclaimed rubber.
